Pied à Terre Sant’Agostino Overview

First Impressions

Pied à Terre Sant’Agostino sits quietly on Via Numa Pompilio, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. The entrance has this understated elegance that feels very Milanese — no flashy signs or doormen, just a simple doorway that hints at something special inside. It’s the kind of place locals would choose, which immediately made me feel like I’d stumbled onto something good.

Location & Neighborhood

You’re basically in the heart of Milan here, but on one of those side streets that somehow stays calm despite being steps from all the action. Sant’Agostino is this charming little area that feels residential but walkable to everything — I mean, you can reach the Duomo in about fifteen minutes on foot. The Navigli district is just south of here too, so you’ve got those canal-side bars and restaurants within easy reach when evening rolls around.

The Space

What struck me about this four-star place is how they’ve managed to feel both boutique and spacious. Each apartment has this modern Italian design thing going on — clean lines, good lighting, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about how you’d live here for a few days. The kitchen isn’t just for show either; it’s properly equipped if you want to grab ingredients from the local market and cook something up.

Practical Matters

The room I stayed in had this great setup where the living area and bedroom felt separate but connected — perfect for spreading out after a long day of walking around the city. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound; despite being in the city center, things stayed quiet at night. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, with Milan’s incredible food scene literally outside your door, that feels like a feature rather than a drawback.

Why Guests Love It

This place gets an 8.6 rating because it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just sleeping. You get the independence of having your own space with a proper kitchen, but you’re also getting hotel-level service and cleanliness. The neighborhood feels authentic — you’ll see more locals than tourists on the street, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real sense of Milan rather than just ticking off the major sights.

What could be improved: Great location 🙂

  • Great location, lovely apartment – perfect for a couple. – Dorota from United Kingdom – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

Apartment is lovely, it's small but enough space for a couple to stay for a few nights. Great location, 20 – 25 minutes walk to Duomo. Apartment is also very close to metro station Green line. There is a pub, wine bar and couple of pizza places within 2 mins walk. It's hot in Milan now but thankfully apartment has a great air con. I can recommend this place to everyone.

What could be improved: Nothing to share. Apartment is lovely.

  • Exceptional – Nevena from Serbia – 26 February 2025 (10/10)

Great location. Nice building. Metro is 5 min away from apartment. Studio is clean and well equiped. For one or two people, it's perfect. Host is very nice and doesn't bother you at all.

  • Excellent place – Ezgi from Netherlands – 18 February 2025 (9/10)

Very clean and neat place, location is super good; very close to the metro stop. There are all the kitchen tools you might need.

What could be improved: Only improvable point- which is very spesific- is that the towels smelled a little bit bad(althpugh they were visibly clean)

  • Clean, Comfortable, and Well-Connected – Mark from Philippines – 10 January 2025 (10/10)

The location is unbeatable! It’s just a one-minute walk to the metro station, super easy to get anywhere in the city. Milano Centrale is only 7 stops away, and Cardona (where you can catch the express train to Malpensa Airport) is just 2 stops. For convenience, there’s a major supermarket, Esselunga, just a 3-minute walk away, perfect for grabbing Italian snacks to take home.

The room is ideal for solo travelers, it’s cozy, spotless, and with a very comfortable bed. Giovanna, the host, is absolutely lovely—so sweet, responsive, and always ready to help. I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this place!

  • Brilliant! – Claire from United Kingdom – 26 October 2024 (10/10)

It was clean and easy to get to everything. Giovanna was so friendly and helpful.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Super – Beatrice from Romania – 27 September 2024 (9/10)

Location was great, with metro station at 1 min from the apartment. It was clean, with almost anything you would need-a mini kitchen, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron, etc. If we come back to Milano, we will definetely book it again. Also, Giovanna was very nice☺️

What could be improved: Only if it is necessary to say that I didn’t like something, there wasn’t a dishrack to dry the dishes, but we stayed just for 2 nights, so it wasn’t such a big deal. Also, there was a problem with the bathroom door, but it will be solved.

  • Exceptional – Igor from Germany – 24 September 2024 (10/10)

Quality/cost is worth it for 10/10. Apt is nice and cozy, bathroom has enough space. It was very clean. 1 minute walking from the subway entrance. Host is amazing person.

What could be improved: Nothing negative. Everything was as I expected and even beyond it.
