Via Ariberto is one of those streets locals actually live on, lined with authentic trattorias and small shops that haven’t been overrun by tourists yet. You’re a genuine 10-minute walk from the Duomo, but more importantly, you’re close to the Navigli district where Milanese actually go for aperitivo. The Porta Genova metro station is just around the corner, which means you can zip anywhere in the city without dealing with the crowds at Duomo station.

The Space

The room I stayed in had that typically Italian approach to space — every square meter was thoughtfully used without feeling cramped. The apartment-style setup includes a small kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just decorative like some places), complete with a proper coffee maker because, well, this is Milan. The decor strikes a nice balance between modern comfort and Italian character — think clean lines with warm wood touches and local artwork on the walls.

What Makes It Work

This three-star property doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, and that’s refreshing. The staff genuinely knows the area — they’ll point you toward the best gelato spot two blocks away or tell you which restaurant serves the most authentic risotto alla milanese nearby. There’s no fancy concierge desk, but the front desk folks are incredibly helpful in that unpretentious Italian way. The Wi-Fi actually works well (crucial if you’re traveling for business), and the air conditioning keeps up during those surprisingly hot Milan summers.

  Nice property in a great location! On the metro line straight from the airport (Linate) and for the central station.
  Has everything you need for a self catering stay (although if you’re going to Italy you’re defo eating out a lot)

  – could do with a lick of paint, particularly in the bed room
  – bit of a funny smell from the shower drain

  What could be improved: we didn't have hot water in the shower. But the staff was ok because they suggested we change hotels so I don't blame anyone it could have broken down at any time

  Very clean and comfortable, spacious and with good location. The couch bed was very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: There is a big mosquito problem. Even though it was mid-October, the apartment was full of mosquitos (you can also see the blood spots all over the walls and there was one on the sheets as well). We had to keep the windows shut throughout our stay in order to be able to sleep peacefully during the night. A simple net on the windows would solve this issue and I don’t understand why it hasn’t been done as most reviews mention this problem.
  Also, I didn’t particularly like the tone of communication – there is a big label on the door saying how expensive electricity in Italy is, and as we were checking out we received an email that we must wash dishes, otherwise there is a fine. I always wash my dishes but I feel like this was unnecessary.

  Cozy, bright, spacious apartment, perfect cleanliness. All the necessary utensils were in the kitchen (do not take salt, there is a lot of it left), and even a hairdryer, iron, ironing board. 25 minutes walk to the Duomo. Nearby there is a cafe and a supermarket. 5 minutes to metro and bus.
  
  What could be improved: There are no mosquito nets on the windows, so a lot of mosquitoes flew in. Might need a fumigator
