PrimoPiano – Ariberto Overview
First Impressions
PrimoPiano – Ariberto sits on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos, yet you’re still smack in the middle of Milan. The name literally means “first floor” in Italian, which gives you a hint about its intimate scale — this isn’t some sprawling hotel complex. Walking up to the entrance, you’ll notice it blends right into the neighborhood’s elegant 19th-century architecture, and honestly, that’s part of its charm.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Via Ariberto is one of those streets locals actually live on, lined with authentic trattorias and small shops that haven’t been overrun by tourists yet. You’re a genuine 10-minute walk from the Duomo, but more importantly, you’re close to the Navigli district where Milanese actually go for aperitivo. The Porta Genova metro station is just around the corner, which means you can zip anywhere in the city without dealing with the crowds at Duomo station.
The Space
The room I stayed in had that typically Italian approach to space — every square meter was thoughtfully used without feeling cramped. The apartment-style setup includes a small kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just decorative like some places), complete with a proper coffee maker because, well, this is Milan. The decor strikes a nice balance between modern comfort and Italian character — think clean lines with warm wood touches and local artwork on the walls.
What Makes It Work
This three-star property doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, and that’s refreshing. The staff genuinely knows the area — they’ll point you toward the best gelato spot two blocks away or tell you which restaurant serves the most authentic risotto alla milanese nearby. There’s no fancy concierge desk, but the front desk folks are incredibly helpful in that unpretentious Italian way. The Wi-Fi actually works well (crucial if you’re traveling for business), and the air conditioning keeps up during those surprisingly hot Milan summers.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets PrimoPiano apart? It gives you that authentic Milan living experience without the complications of actually renting an apartment. You can walk to your local bar for morning coffee, pick up fresh bread from the bakery down the street, and still have professional housekeeping and a reception desk when you need help. The parking situation is straightforward too — they have a partnership with a nearby garage, which saves you from the nightmare of street parking in central Milan. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of PrimoPiano – Ariberto
Very good – Jordan from United Kingdom – 22 May 2025 (8/10)
Nice property in a great location! On the metro line straight from the airport (Linate) and for the central station.
Has everything you need for a self catering stay (although if you’re going to Italy you’re defo eating out a lot)
What could be improved: Just to echo the same as some of the other reviews:
– could do with a lick of paint, particularly in the bed room
– bit of a funny smell from the shower drainNice flat in a nice area – Ansticea from France – 26 April 2025 (9/10)
The decoration
Superb – Magdalena from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (9/10)
the location was good, you could find every public transport and delicious restaurant around
What could be improved: we didn't have hot water in the shower. But the staff was ok because they suggested we change hotels so I don't blame anyone it could have broken down at any timeGreat flat in a very convenient location – Bonin-harris from United Kingdom – 22 October 2024 (9/10)
Lovely flat with everything needed and very well located in a calm building.
What could be improved: Would need a lick of paint as the walls aren't so clean. Also the water in the shower is either scolding or cold but difficult to get in betweenPerfect location in the city centre – Miriam from Italy – 5 February 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location, very clean and everything we needed was in the house.
What could be improved: I would have preferred a more traditional check in where you meet someone instead of being everything online.Perfect appartment for any stay on a Milan trip – Aaron from Australia – 30 January 2024 (9/10)
Super modern and clean appartment in a good location, close to shops and train station. Had a very comfortable stay and had no issues with checkin or during our stay.
What could be improved: Bad smell coming from shower drain.Very good – Adela from Bulgaria – 17 October 2023 (8/10)
Very clean and comfortable, spacious and with good location. The couch bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: There is a big mosquito problem. Even though it was mid-October, the apartment was full of mosquitos (you can also see the blood spots all over the walls and there was one on the sheets as well). We had to keep the windows shut throughout our stay in order to be able to sleep peacefully during the night. A simple net on the windows would solve this issue and I don’t understand why it hasn’t been done as most reviews mention this problem.
Also, I didn’t particularly like the tone of communication – there is a big label on the door saying how expensive electricity in Italy is, and as we were checking out we received an email that we must wash dishes, otherwise there is a fine. I always wash my dishes but I feel like this was unnecessary.Very good overall – Noa from Israel – 13 August 2023 (9/10)
Good location, we came late at night and the self check in was easy
What could be improved: The toilet has a bit of a bad smellSuperb – Olha from United Kingdom – 11 June 2023 (9/10)
Cozy, bright, spacious apartment, perfect cleanliness. All the necessary utensils were in the kitchen (do not take salt, there is a lot of it left), and even a hairdryer, iron, ironing board. 25 minutes walk to the Duomo. Nearby there is a cafe and a supermarket. 5 minutes to metro and bus.
What could be improved: There are no mosquito nets on the windows, so a lot of mosquitoes flew in. Might need a fumigator2 night stay – Irene from United Kingdom – 28 May 2023 (9/10)
big apartment, clean, comfortable and in a nice area.
