Here’s the thing about staying near Stazione Centrale in Milan — most people think it’s just a transit zone, but Via Mauro Macchi is actually pretty decent. You’re literally five minutes from Central Station (perfect for those early Malpensa Express runs), but the street itself has this lived-in neighborhood feel. There’s a good restaurant called Osteria del Borgo just around the corner that locals actually use, and honestly, being able to walk to the station with your luggage instead of wrestling with taxis makes a huge difference.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully laid out — clearly designed by someone who understands how people actually live in small spaces. Each unit functions more like a mini-apartment than a traditional hotel room, with a small kitchenette that’s genuinely useful (not just decorative). The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathroom, while not spacious, has good water pressure and stays warm. I mean, it’s a three-star place, so don’t expect marble everything, but the basics are solid.

Getting Around

What I really appreciated was how connected you feel to the rest of Milan from here. The yellow line metro at Centrale gets you to Duomo in about ten minutes, and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving (though honestly, why would you in Milan?). The neighborhood has that mix of business travelers and locals that means good coffee shops and places that stay open at reasonable hours — not like some tourist areas that shut down after lunch.

Why It Makes Sense

Look, Primopiano – Macchi isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobby shots. But if you want a clean, well-located base in Milan without paying premium prices, it actually delivers on that promise. The staff seems to understand that most guests are either here for business or using Milan as a jumping-off point for other places, so they keep things efficient and helpful without unnecessary fuss. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, grab coffee downstairs, and head out to explore the city — which, honestly, is exactly what you want from a stay in Milan anyway.

  Находиться недалеко от Milano Centrale,10 минут пешком. Метро недалеко. Рядом Big Pizza, Необходимые продукты покупали у вокзала в ALDI, но недалеко от квартиры есть мини маркет. Аппартаменты небольшие, но все необходимое имеется. Отопление хорошее, зимой точно не замерзните. Летом наверно будет жарко, кондиционера нет. Если гулять весь день по Милану и ближайшим городам, домой приходить только спать, то место идеальное.
  
  What could be improved: Раковина и индукционная плита находятся в небольшой нише и там темно, света от вытяжки над плитой не хватает. Вытяжка не вытягивает запахи. От того, что в комнате тепло, на улице холодно (были в конце ноября) на стекле конденсат, стекает на подоконник, все что на нем мокнет. Пароль у Wi-Fi заводили долго, так как не понятно буквы это или цифры. Ставни на окнах были закрыты, мы не уточняли у хозяина аппартаментов можно их открывать.

  Same as described. It was clean, and smells good, but it was freshly cleaned thus once we arrived the floor was wet which make it got dirty immediately due to our shoes 😀 but it’s well equipped and good location with friendly environment and some cafe shops.

  I really liked the location, it was very convenient. All the facilities mentioned in the description were available, which made the stay very comfortable. Everything matched my expectations!
  
  What could be improved: There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. Being in Milan, there was a bit of noise outside, but it wasn’t too loud and didn’t disturb me much.
