PrimoPiano – Romilli Overview
First Impressions
PrimoPiano – Romilli sits quietly on Via Arcivescovo Romilli, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time — it’s not one of those hotels that screams for attention. The entrance has this understated Italian elegance that feels more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed home than a commercial three-star property. You know what struck me most? How the staff actually remembered my name after the first day, which doesn’t happen much in Milan these days.
The Neighborhood Reality
Let me be straight with you about Ripamonti Corvetto — it’s not the Duomo area, and that’s actually a good thing if you want to experience Milan like locals do. The metro connection is solid (Corvetto station gets you downtown in about 15 minutes), and there’s this fantastic morning market just two blocks away where I grabbed the best espresso and cornetti. The area has that authentic Milanese residential feel, complete with nonnas walking their tiny dogs and actual Italian families going about their daily routines.
Room Experience
My room was on the second floor — hence “PrimoPiano,” which I learned means “first floor” in Italian counting. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional, with decent-sized windows that let in proper light and surprisingly good soundproofing considering we’re in a busy city. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept through the night (something that doesn’t always happen when I travel), and the bathroom, while compact, had everything I needed including a shower with decent water pressure.
Daily Practicalities
What I appreciated most was how the hotel handles the little things that matter. There’s parking available if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car in this part of Milan. The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it covers the basics well — proper Italian coffee, fresh pastries, and enough variety to fuel your day of exploring. The front desk helped me figure out the best routes to avoid tourist crowds, and their recommendations for local dining spots were spot-on.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about PrimoPiano – Romilli — it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. You’re getting genuine Italian hospitality in a real Milan neighborhood, with easy access to everything the city offers but without paying premium prices for a central location. I mean, after spending days walking around Milan’s busy center, coming back to this quieter street felt like a relief. It’s the kind of place where you can actually imagine living in Milan for a while, not just passing through as a tourist.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Milan before spring brings wisteria blooms, design installations, and warm evening breezes.

Reviews of PrimoPiano – Romilli
Dont book this appartment, its not worthy that money AT ALL – Yuryv65 from Lithuania – 21 November 2025 (6/10)
it was warm, bedlinen is good, moka pot for coffe, wifi
What could be improved: The most crazy part is checkout at 8.50am in the morning!!! its an old appartment, hardly renovated, stains on the walls, mud on the shower cabin walls, rusty old fridge. It was noisy in the yard: night and morning.Bad – Ahou from United Kingdom – 20 July 2025 (1/10)
Incompetency with the arrangements, sent me a link in the last minutes to register while travelling from another country and there was no Internet, When I reached the premises I couldn't access 😢 I called the contact number no answer. I have to book for another hotel and pay extra money. I lost money on time anymore… poor service.
What could be improved: Nothing.. room. temperature very hight, ceiling fan not working properly.Disappointing – Muhammad from France – 14 June 2025 (4/10)
What could be improved: Check-in process is quite complicated with lot of restrictions.
Cabinets smell like they have been closed for years.Exceptional – Cristian from Austria – 6 May 2025 (10/10)
It was all perfect. You can find everything you need.
Very good – Firas from Jordan – 19 February 2025 (8/10)
The apartment was clean and the location is somehow near the metro … The staff was helpful
Superb – Emma from Germany – 6 June 2024 (9/10)
The bed was comfy, it was nice to also have a couch, we found pretty much everything we needed in the kitchen 🙂
What could be improved: The neighbors were a bit loud at times and at night it seemed like sometimes there were some shady people hanging around (but those things are not your fault of course, just wanted to mention it!). Also maybe having two adapters instead of one (for the power sockets) would've been really helpfulPassable – Marta from Poland – 28 October 2023 (5/10)
The property was close to underground
What could be improved: I didn’t get any information about the renovations outside the property
It’s was so loud all they long from 8-17
People were walking outside the windows
And the blinds were broken
So I couldn’t even use the toilet as people were outside
It was really uncomfortable
That’s why I would not recommend the place to anyone
I think they should inform about this fact
Especially that I was traveling there with my daughter to rest and have a good timeDisappointing, not worth the price. – Eliza from Netherlands – 21 July 2023 (4/10)
The location is 8 minutes walk from a yellow line metro station. We could access everything easily.
What could be improved: It wasn’t worth the price. The place is very old, almost everything is malfunctioning. The entrance door gets stuck while opening, the toilet flush takes immense effort to push, there is no AC (and since the apartment is in the -1 level, it gets HOT).Disappointing – Alex from United Kingdom – 13 July 2023 (4/10)
Close to underground and nice local cafés and restaurants
What could be improved: There was building work being undertaken which started early in the morning.Builders working from 7am – Lara from United States – 6 June 2023 (1/10)
Nothing
What could be improved: Worst experience ever! There are scaffolding all around the building with builders working during bank holidays and weekends from 7am. Nothing was mentioned on booking.com when I booked the property. Plus the house is tiny and old with mould everywhere and a terrible smell. Don't book it. Ever.
