Milan Royal Suites – Castello Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Milan Royal Suites – Castello, you immediately notice how it sits perfectly in the heart of Milan‘s historic center — Via Mercato feels like one of those streets that locals actually use, not just a tourist thoroughfare. The building itself has that understated Italian elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but definitely commands respect. You know what I mean? It’s the kind of place where you feel sophisticated just walking through the entrance.
The Neighborhood Advantage
This four-star property really nails the location game, honestly. You’re literally steps away from the Castello Sforzesco, which sounds touristy but actually becomes this lovely backdrop for morning walks. The Via Mercato address means you can duck into authentic cafés that haven’t been completely overrun by guidebook crowds. I found myself grabbing espresso at the corner bar most mornings — the kind of place where regulars read their newspapers and the barista remembers your order after day two.
The Suite Experience
The suites here are — well, they’re proper suites, not just hotel rooms with a sitting area awkwardly squeezed in. Each room feels thoughtfully designed, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. The kitchenette setup is surprisingly functional if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets (and trust me, you’ll want to). The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and the beds… honestly, I slept better here than I have in some five-star places.
Getting Around
What I really appreciated was how walkable everything felt from here. The Duomo is close enough for an evening stroll, but you’re not dealing with the constant tourist chaos right outside your door. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, Milan’s public transport from this area works so well you might not need a car. The red line metro stops aren’t far, and taxis actually show up when you call them from this neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s one of those places that gets the details right without being fussy about it. The staff knows Milan well enough to give you actual recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. You’ll find yourself coming back to your suite during the day just because it feels like a proper home base, not just a place to sleep. It strikes that perfect balance between being central enough to matter but quiet enough to recharge between all that inevitable Milan shopping and sightseeing.
To book hotel in Milan for fashion week elegance, travelers reserve early to pair Duomo sunrise visits with evening aperitivo rituals.

What could be improved: Very uncomfortable bed and pillows (we stayed at Suite Schubert, so perhaps the other suites are more comfortable); washing machine door was broken on our visit (although the call centre tried to resolve this for us over the phone); some of the plates and utensils in the kitchen were dirty and/or chippedVery good – Niki from United Kingdom – 20 May 2024 (8/10)

Fantastic location in a lovely part of the city , close to the metro and easy walking distance to everything including the Duomo. I shared the apartment with my daughter who is working in Milan. The accommodation suited us very well, having two floors made it feel spacious, a bathroom upstairs and toilet and basin downstairs was great and we enjoyed the roof terrace. We felt very safe in the apartment and the area. In fact I'm hoping to book it again !
What could be improved: There was nothing I didn't like. The were a couple of things I asked about (via WhatsApp) e.g. where to find the Wi-Fi code but they got to me in minutes and were extremely helpful.A warm location in a cold Milan! – Roberto from Italy – 31 January 2024 (10/10)
Luxury apartment in a central area, attention to detail and every comfort both inside and outside the apartment. Thanks to the guys!
