Quadrilocale Navigli sits right at Piazzale Stazione Genova, which honestly surprised me — in a good way. I mean, you’d expect a train station location to feel chaotic, but this four-star place actually uses its spot pretty cleverly. The building itself has that understated Milanese elegance, nothing too flashy, but you can tell someone put thought into the design.

Here’s what I love about staying in Navigli — you’re literally in the heart of Milan’s most vibrant neighborhood without the touristy chaos of the Duomo area. The famous canals are just steps away, and honestly, there’s something magical about grabbing an aperitivo along those waterways after a day of exploring. The Porta Genova station right there means you can zip around the city without dealing with traffic, which any Milan visitor will tell you is a blessing.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup works really well if you’re planning a longer stay or traveling with a group. Each unit feels more like a proper home than a hotel room, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in. The kitchenette comes in handy — not just for saving money, but because sometimes you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and cook something simple. The furnishings are modern without being cold, sort of that Scandinavian-meets-Italian aesthetic that’s everywhere in Milan these days.

Neighborhood Life

What really makes this place work is how it plugs you into actual Milanese life. You know what I mean — you’re not stuck in some hotel bubble. There’s this great little restaurant just around the corner that locals actually go to, and the weekend markets along the Navigli give you a real taste of the city’s rhythm. Evening passeggiata along the canals becomes part of your routine, and suddenly you feel less like a tourist and more like someone who actually knows their way around.

Why Guests Love It

The 7.8 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the essentials really well. The parking situation is actually manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Milan will appreciate. Plus, the whole setup gives you flexibility that traditional hotels just can’t match. You can come and go as you please, store your groceries, and really live in the space rather than just crash there between sightseeing sessions.

• Lingering smells, poor management, loud. – Marianna from Italy – 30 March 2025 (6/10)

  We couldn’t do an early check in, although the staff was courteous to let us leave our luggage from the morning, they specified immediately that it we wanted to let them come back a second time it was at a cost. We were 5 people sharing the space, as it’s a 3 bedroom, and they only provided one set of keys. The apartment had a lingering smell of food in the living room and a musky smell to the furniture. The cleaning person left an hour after we were promised it was ready (4:00 pm) and there were still breadcrumbs on the floor, the fridge, and kitchen utensils all were oily and needed to be washed before used. There was a lot of back and forth with staff around heating as the heaters needed to be fixed. Even though the staff was responsive, there was always a lot of resistance. The two rooms at the back were loud (as expected reading from other reviews) and all the bedding was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows and towels are super low quality.
  The shower on the bigger bathroom kept leaking water flooding the entire floor. The mop was kept unclean and it was disgusting to pull out and clean out the floors. There was no light in the laundry room which made it more difficult to do laundry. In fact, there were a lot of lights that were not functional, in the living room we couldn’t have meetings as it was extremely low lit. Since they gave us their spare set of extra keys they said that we needed to meet with them for check out to hand over the keys as we were rushing out to catch a train. In the end they agreed to let us leave the keys in the mailbox but that was not an option at first. It was extremely difficult and I don’t think it’s worth the cost nor the upside of having the trains nearby.

  We would love to stay again! The check-in was easy to coordinate but I would prefer to not rely on a person. Easy access to beautiful part of the city, many restaurants and bars nearby.
  
  What could be improved: There is a lot of noice outside, I recommend using earplugs and if you are a light sleeper, try using the bedroom at the back.

  What could be improved: Niente dell’appartamento in sé, ma consiglio di portare i tappi per le orecchie vista la vicinanza con i tram che si sentono praticamente tutta la notte.

  L’Emplacement, les équipements, 2 salles de bain, 3 chambres.
  
  What could be improved: Très bruyant, les fenêtres ne sont pas du tout isolées.
  On entend le tramway comme si il était dans la chambres. Réveillé tous les matins par les bruits dans la rue.

  La amplitud de los espacios.
  La ubicacion en la ciudad, con muy buenas comunicaciones, tren, metro, tranvia, bus,..
  Cocina bien equipada.
  
  What could be improved: Se puede mejorar el mantenimiento de las lamparas del comedor, del aplique en la pica del WC y de la campana de la cocina.
  Solo se podia bloquear la puerta de un WC, porque solo había una llave.
  Tampoco nos gusto la exigencia del check out a las 10:00 de la mañana sin opción de dejar las bolsas/maleta

  God beliggenhed, god indretning af lejligheden.
  
  What could be improved: Lidt forvirrende udtjekning – ville være nemmere hvis man ikke behøvede at vente på rengøring. Da hun kom, skulle hun alligevel ikke bruge os til noget. Men al personale var søde og hjælpsomme.

  L’appartement est beau, confortable et spacieux. Il est très bien situé, à deux pas d‘une station de métro et à 5 minutes à pied des Navigli.
  
  What could be improved: Le tram passe au pied de la maison et est passablement bruyant… il circule jusque tard dans la nuit et dès tôt le matin!

  The location is perfect and host was a really lovely lady, she was friendly & welcoming.The apartment is spacious with a nice layout. Perfect for a large family with children.
  Loved the wooden flooring & comfortable lounge with huge windows.
  
  What could be improved: Toilet paper, shampoo & hand wash was not sufficient for the length of the stay, and number of the guests, which was inconvenient and wasn’t expected. Also, the pillows were too soft & the mattress was too hard.
