Sant’Ambrogio Design Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Sant’Ambrogio Design Apartment on Via Terraggio, you’ll notice it’s tucked into one of those quintessentially Milanese buildings — the kind with weathered stone facades and wrought-iron balconies. This three-star place doesn’t scream for attention, which honestly works in its favor. The entrance is understated, almost residential, and that’s sort of the point.
Prime Milan Location
You’re basically in the heart of Milan here, just a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo and La Scala. What I really appreciate about this spot is how it sits on a quieter street — you get all the benefits of being central without the constant tourist crowds right outside your door. The Cairoli metro station is maybe three minutes away, and there’s this great little café around the corner that locals actually use (always a good sign).
The Apartment Experience
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical hotel. The interiors lean modern with clean lines and pops of color — nothing groundbreaking, but thoughtfully done. Each room has this minimalist vibe going on, and the kitchenette is actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the market nearby and make your own coffee. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure (something you can’t take for granted in older Milan buildings).
Daily Life and Amenities
There’s no restaurant on-site, but honestly, you’re in Milan — why would you want to eat hotel food anyway? The Sant’Ambrogio area has some incredible little trattorias and wine bars within walking distance. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, so if you’re driving, definitely sort that out ahead of time. The staff is helpful with recommendations, and they seem to genuinely know the area rather than just reading from a script.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service — and that’s exactly why it works. The Sant’Ambrogio Design Apartment gives you a real taste of living in central Milan without the tourist hotel markup. The 7.1 rating feels about right — it’s solid, well-located, and does what it promises without any pretense. If you want to explore Milan like you actually live there, rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.
Apartments in Milan suit families with balcony windows, full kitchens, and sunset strolls through Sempione Park gardens.

Reviews of Sant’Ambrogio Design Apartment
Great value for money, very friendly and helpful host. Would definitely recommend to any couple for a short stay in the – Joe from Ireland – 7 November 2025 (9/10)
Location was 10/10 right next to the metro which the host explained to us through whatsapp made everything so much easier.
What could be improved: Slight lack of fresh air but manageable this time of year.Very good – Danielle from France – 26 October 2025 (8/10)
Très bien placé, décoration soignée..spacieux ..
What could be improved: Certains équipements en cuisine hors de portée, trop haut, un escabeau aurait été le bienvenu…Excellent location – Georgina from United Kingdom – 22 July 2025 (7/10)
Amazing location near the centre of Milan, very easy to walk to city and good selection of bars/restaurants/bakeries near by. Lots of space in the apartment. Washing machine and two bathrooms were very helpful.
What could be improved: Unfortunately we found some rather personal rubbish when we arrived. We sent a photo of this to the host who did not respond. It caused us to question the cleanliness of the rest of the apartment, although there were no further issues.
Be aware that main bed is on floor, so if you have issues getting in/out, this is not for you.
Space upstairs could have been better for the sofa bed, as next to second bathroom, rather than a dining area.Pleasant – Paola from Spain – 21 May 2025 (6/10)
Mejorable – Javier from Spain – 19 March 2025 (7/10)
La ubicación y la atención de Javier
What could be improved: Los baños se notan que no están mirados. El resto de la casa está bien, a excepción de la cama que habría que darle una vuelta también por incomodidadPleasant – Giovanna from Italy – 18 February 2025 (6/10)
Posizione
What could be improved: Camera da lettoPleasant – Oksana from Russia – 29 November 2023 (6/10)
The apartment is in an excellent location near Cadorna station. It has a nice layout with all the amenities you could want(although one burner on stove wasn’t working). There is a foldout bed/couch on main floor and the infamous bamboo bed(which isn’t so bad…it’s just a bed on the floor)
What could be improved: When we first arrived there was wet laundry left from previous tenants. We complained and got it removed same day (to their credit). The whole apartment has smell of mildew. The air was stagnant but if you open windows the mosquitoes will feast.
Rooms lack soundproofing and in early hours can hear everyone and everything. Neighbor had car parked directly in front of door for entire duration of stay.Good – Diane from Australia – 29 October 2023 (7/10)
What could be improved: Having three levels and sleeping on the couch it was tricky to go to the bathroom at night up/down stairs.
Passable – Radek from Czech Republic – 26 October 2023 (5/10)
Great locations, clean rooms, big apparment for good prize, easy acces 5 mins from metro, close to center and even to other interesting parts of Milan.
What could be improved: Had enourmous problem to get Invoice (Host is not respecting TOS of Booking, if you want full Invoice you need to pay them extra money, that is absolutly unacceptable, if you travel for work do not choose that companies properties, would lead you to a lot of problems). Later problem was solved, but still take a long time and to get 3 invoice for one stay is not ideal for company.
Uncomfortable bed, Lights have kinda bad positions (like light for stairs cannot be controlled from floor where is bedroom) They dont privede any bacis for apparments like Tea/Coffea.Milan stay – Jenny from Australia – 9 September 2023 (8/10)
The apartment was very comfortable and well appointed- spread over 3 floors. We needed a work space too so this worked for us. A good walk to the Duomo and walking distance to Navigli area, metro etc. I would stay again.
What could be improved: The bed/matress was on the floor which for us not-so-young types was not easy to get up from but comfortable to sleep on. Some starter coffee pods would be good and clear directions on wifi password needed.
