Soggiorno Isola Milano Overview
First Impressions
Soggiorno Isola Milano sits on a quiet side street in one of Milan’s most dynamic neighborhoods, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. This three-star place doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it focuses on giving you a clean, comfortable base in an area that’s become incredibly hip over the past few years. The building itself is understated, but you’ll quickly realize that’s part of the charm.
The Neighborhood Reality
The Porta Nuova district around here has transformed dramatically — I mean, you’ve got these gleaming skyscrapers mixed with old Milanese architecture, and it actually works. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Garibaldi station, which connects you to pretty much everywhere in Milan without the tourist chaos of Centrale. What I really love is that you can grab morning coffee at a proper local bar on Via Confalonieri, then be at the Duomo in fifteen minutes on the metro.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully laid out — you know, the kind of space where everything has its place. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the bathroom, while not huge, had good water pressure (trust me, this matters after walking around Milan all day). The windows actually open, which is becoming rare these days, and if you’re on the right side of the building, you’ll catch glimpses of the Bosco Verticale towers in the distance.
Practical Considerations
Look, this isn’t a place with a fancy lobby restaurant or concierge service — but the staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward that perfect aperitivo spot that locals actually frequent. There’s no on-site parking, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The real value is in the location and the fact that you’re staying somewhere that feels more like a well-run guesthouse than a generic hotel chain.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Soggiorno Isola Milano is the balance it strikes — you’re in the heart of modern Milan’s most interesting quarter, surrounded by innovative architecture, trendy bars, and excellent transport links, but you’re not paying premium prices for unnecessary frills. It’s perfect for travelers who want to experience Milan like someone who actually lives here, rather than just hitting the tourist highlights. The 8.7 rating makes complete sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point.
To book hotel in Milan for fashion week elegance, travelers reserve early to pair Duomo sunrise visits with evening aperitivo rituals.

The stay and services are awesome. – Johnson from Singapore – 1 October 2025 (10/10)
Great
What could be improved: Raining for 2 daysGreat location away from the more touristy area near the cathedral. – Linda from United States – 11 September 2025 (9/10)
Location was great—near subway and central train station. Lots of restaurants around. Host did not speak English, but we communicated through Google translate. Host was very responsive to our requests and very hospitable.
What could be improved: Shampoo and conditioner would have been nice.Nice and cosy but need a light outside of the appartment. – Yoko from Germany – 29 July 2025 (7/10)
A bit old but interior was nicely renovated and very cosy and clean.
What could be improved: Door keys were difficult to manage to open at the begging also outside of apartment , the stairs and corridor was dark. I dropped off when I went down with stairs as was too dark to see my food.Lovely stay! – Alexandra from Australia – 16 June 2025 (10/10)
The property was very clean and all communication was friendly and easy. Great location close to public transport!
What could be improved: Nil – just be aware it is a shared property where you have your own room/bathroom and share a kitchen with other guests but this was not an issue at all for us.Amazing, perfect location, great hosting – Rebekah from United Kingdom – 15 June 2025 (10/10)
The property was absolutely beautiful! We were greeted so kindly and shown everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
We were also gifted cold water and tea which was very appreciated considering the weather!
The property is great distance from shops/restaurants, and most of Milan has metro stops nearby so it’s an easy 15 mins to get to the Duomo and other big sites.
Thank you so so much for our stay!
What could be improved: Nothing much to say – we struggled to get warm water in the shower until our 2nd night, but this wasn’t an issue as it felt too hot to have a warm shower anyway!Very good – Anton from Australia – 11 June 2025 (8/10)
Maria was extremely helpful. Closer to the shops and restaurants. Railway station within walking distance.
What could be improved: The entranceFantastic place to stay – Yulia from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic location, cosy and clean. The host was great and very responsive!
Short but sweet – Robert from United Kingdom – 1 May 2025 (10/10)
Clean and serviceable
What could be improved: NothingWith that price i suggest you go for a whole apartment that you can have for yourself. This is a B&B. – Laila from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (1/10)
The location and house was ok. It wasn’t super clean but clean enough.
What could be improved: They don’t advertise the property as a B&B. I was travelling with my little one and from the description of the house wasn’t clear it was a B&B. Funny enough my family and another couple we found out we were sharing a house the day of the check in. Both of us were quite surprised.Superb – Ben from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
The hosts were fantastic after a misunderstanding regarding our booking. The apartment was clean and spacious and near the train station, so access to milan was superb.
