Via Casale – Sweet home Overview
First Impressions
Via Casale – Sweet home sits tucked away on a quiet street in the Navigli district, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s the kind of three-star place that doesn’t scream for attention — just a modest entrance that hints at something more intimate inside. The building itself has that weathered Milan charm, and when you step through the door, there’s an immediate sense that this is someone’s labor of love rather than a corporate hotel chain.
The Navigli Experience
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re right in the heart of Milan’s most dynamic neighborhood without the tourist chaos. The Navigli canals are literally a few minutes’ walk away, which means you can stumble back from those late-night aperitivo sessions without worrying about catching the last metro. During the day, I actually enjoyed wandering the quieter residential streets around Via Casale — there’s a fantastic local bakery two blocks over that most visitors never discover.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged, with enough space to spread out my stuff without feeling cramped. What struck me most was how clean everything felt — not just surface-level clean, but genuinely well-maintained. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a place in this price range, and the Wi-Fi actually worked reliably (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in older Milan buildings). There’s no air conditioning in some rooms, so if you’re visiting in summer, definitely ask about that when booking.
Morning Routine
Breakfast here is simple but satisfying — fresh pastries, decent coffee, and usually some fruit. It’s served in a small common area that feels more like eating at a friend’s place than a hotel dining room. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re sorted for the day, and they’re full of insider tips about the neighborhood. I mean, where else would I have learned about that hidden vintage market that only happens on Thursday mornings?
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense — it’s reliable, comfortable, and puts you exactly where you want to be in Milan without breaking the bank. Sure, you won’t find a fancy spa or room service, but what you get is a genuine neighborhood experience and owners who actually give a damn about their guests. If you’re the type who prefers authentic local vibes over polished hotel amenities, Via Casale – Sweet home delivers exactly what it promises.

Reviews of Via Casale – Sweet home
Mikko – Mikko from Finland – 30 September 2025 (9/10)
Nice flat with good location. Host were very helpful and friendly. We got issues with stove and fridge, but got help immediately.
What could be improved: Inner ward got facade renovation, but it ain't matter. This flat's window is other side of building.Superb – Sofiia from Poland – 21 April 2025 (9/10)
Everything is fine. Good location, good transport links.
Quiet room, comfortable bed. Always hot water in the shower.
What could be improved: There was no white kettle for making teaFab location and such a cute little apartment – also very safe! – E from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (10/10)
The bed was so so comfy, lovely shower and I liked the fact that the shower and toilet were in seperate rooms. Such a great location too, near the canal which is so pretty and right next to the metro which is like 3 stops into main town 🙂
What could be improved: Nothing, was all fabulous!Very good – Christian from Canada – 8 July 2024 (8/10)
Location was fantastic, AC helpful on hot days. Kitchen to make some food at home. Comfortable bed, nice to have the closet space. Great for a few days stay for a couple.
What could be improved: The same lock box key code from the instruction video makes me think it wasn't changed in months, so many other people could have accessed the unit before we arrived.
Shower wall was a bit moldy and that section of the bathroom had a smell to it.
Freezer compartment door in the fridge was broken.Good place in Milano. – Mert from Turkey – 31 March 2024 (10/10)
Nice clean apartment, in a very good area. Apartment is next to metro and locale restraunts. It was exactly what we needed. It also had a small kitchen for people that wanted to cook. The host left video instructions on how to get the key, and how to get to the apartment, so it was very easy to check in at any hour.
better look something else – Pedro from Brazil – 21 April 2023 (3/10)
Location
What could be improved: all the rest! starting from the checkin time at 16:00 ! i mean, i came just for a night, contacted them and they were simply not willing to help! i almost havent been in the apartment because of this. i told i would cancel it, they said that 14 would be ok. Then after the canceling period, they came back again with 16pm! apartment is extremely small and i dont understand why it takes so long to clean it. the check out is 09:30 which is also too early.
bathroom is bad, bef is not good, water was cold, and lighting also very bad! it had a strange smell as well.
And look that i came at 23 and left at 4 am . there was some old food in the fridge as well.Good place for visiting Milano – Luis from Spain – 3 April 2023 (8/10)
The location is good. Not for working, though. For visiting the city is fine. It's in the hipster touristic neighborhood. Even that, it is very quiet and you can sleep well in the apartment.
What could be improved: The manager must do some little maintenance to the facilities. The toilet cap is loose. The bath plate drainage must be cleaned thoroughfully; it was smelly during the night.Good – Ivan from Russia – 13 March 2023 (7/10)
location is good
check in and out without contact with any person
What could be improved: stove isn’t working
check out extremely early (9:30am)Great Location but That’s all. – Nikolina from Croatia – 12 February 2023 (7/10)
