Youhosty – Rosales 1 Overview
First Impressions
I’ll be honest — when I first walked up to Youhosty – Rosales 1, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked into a residential street near Porta Nuova, and the building itself looks pretty standard. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention from the sidewalk.
Location Reality Check
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Milan — you’re actually in one of the city’s most transformed neighborhoods. The Porta Nuova district has become this interesting mix of gleaming skyscrapers and old-school Italian residential streets. I mean, you can walk to the Bosco Verticale (those famous tower gardens) in about ten minutes, and honestly, that alone makes the location worth it. The Garibaldi train station is close enough that you’ll hear the occasional rumble, but it never bothered me during my stay.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than I expected — this is definitely more of an efficient European-style space than anything sprawling. The apartment-style setup works well though, especially if you’re planning to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the street. There’s a basic kitchenette that’s actually functional (I managed to make decent coffee and simple meals), which saved me quite a bit on dining out in this pricey neighborhood.
Practical Considerations
Look, this is a three-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or fancy toiletries. What you get is clean, functional accommodation with decent Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works. The staff speaks English well enough, and they were pretty helpful when I needed directions to the nearest metro stop. Parking isn’t included, but there’s street parking if you’re brave enough to navigate Milan traffic.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Youhosty – Rosales 1 is that it gives you a genuine taste of living in Milan rather than just visiting it. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where locals actually live and work, not some touristy bubble. The nearby cafes serve proper espresso (not the watered-down stuff you get near the Duomo), and there’s this excellent little trattoria called Osteria del Borgo just around the corner that most tourists never find. For the price point in this area of Milan, you’re getting solid value — especially considering you’re walking distance from both the business district and some of the city’s best modern architecture.
To book a hotel in Milan during opera season, visitors plan ahead to balance La Scala performances with quiet Navigli canal strolls.

Reviews of Youhosty – Rosales 1
Lindo estudio y cerca de todo en Milán – Carlos from Costa Rica – 20 November 2025 (8/10)
Cómodo y en una muy buena ubicación para mis intereses
What could be improved: Demasiado ruido alrededor, personas hablando y gritando, trenes, tranvía, autos y buses, transitan toda la noche. Es una lástima, que el edificio, no cuente con ventanas de doble vidrio, para disminuir el ruido externo.I really enjoyed my stay. It was all very easy and clean and I felt very well looked after. – Pascalle from Germany – 10 October 2025 (9/10)
It was very close to the city centre and easily accessed. Emanuela was very nice and easily contacted when needed. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe as well and it was very clean and comfortable. Check out was very easy!
What could be improved: Nothing particular.Recomendable 100% – Laura from Spain – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
Very good – Sophie from Austria – 17 April 2025 (8/10)
Great location, small and cosy. Good shower pressure.
What could be improved: Missing an oven or grill for toasts, no towels for the dishesNot good – Luigia from Italy – 11 November 2024 (1/10)
Location , but really noisy during night
What could be improved: The apartment was dirty and the window is so old that not close properly, so all the noise from the road and bars nearby not allow you to sleep.
The blinders were broken so also the lights from the buildings and the road not allow you to sleep.
Owner of building not professional not allowed refunding.DONT STAY HERE. IF I'D SEEN IT BEFORE I'D PAID, I'D HAVE WALKED OUT. – Frankel from United States – 30 September 2023 (2/10)
Emanuela DID agree to meet us at the apartment to toss us the keys and book out the door so we could drop off our luggage from the nearby Porta Garibaldi train station. That was a nice accommodation for her to make, which we appreciated.
What could be improved: Although Emanuela charged us $54 for a CLEANING FEE:
THE APARTMENT FLOOR WAS DIRTY.
MORE THAN DIRTY — IT WAS NOT CLEANED OR MAINTAINED INSPITE OF AN ESPECIALLY HIGH $54 CHARGE THAT CLEARLY POCKETED BY THE HOST EXPRESSLY INTENDED TO BE USED TO MAINTAIN A NICE APARTMENT IN A GREAT LOCATION.
IT IS A CHEAT AND A LIE YOU SHOULD NOT TOLERATE IN A VACATION RENTAL UNIT.
ONE CRUCIAL SUPPORT RAILING FOR THE NARROW TWISTING STEPS TO THE BED LOFT WAS LOOSE —
THIS WAS AN EGREGIOUS SAFETY HAZZARD THAT A NORMAL RENTAL AGENT WOULD FIX IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE SUED HER FOR INJURY!
ONE WINDOW CURTAIN WAS CLEARLY, VISIBLE TORN HORIZONTALLY.
THE BIDET NOZZLE WAS CLOGGED AND UNUSABLE.
THE SHOWER WAS SMALLER THAN THE BATHROOM DESERVED.
No breakfast. No coffee or coffee machine — unlike EVERY OTHER APARTMENT WE STAYED IN.
No Microwave.
THE Laundry machine washes ok, but Emanuela doesn't tell you (my wife speaks Italian) that is does NOT DRY your clothes, and there is NO drying rack. We hung our wet clothes over the bed railing and aimed the air conditioning unit up at them.Livable Apartment in a Great Location – Derek from United Kingdom – 8 September 2023 (7/10)
Great location with easy access to the main stations and to excellent local restaurants far better prices than the poor quality city centre restaurants. The apartment was a pleasant and light open space.
What could be improved: The shower was very small and with the windows open there was a lot of noise outside from the trams and street. There were lots of simple maintenance jobs like fixing loose fittings that needed done giving the apartment an "uncared for" feel.Perfect Milan spot to stay! – Ariane from United States – 22 June 2023 (10/10)
Really cute – and right across the street from Eataly! it's well appointed property, has all you need and surprisingly quiet and very safe. Highly recommend!
What could be improved: Not a thing – wish we could stay longer!Magnífico! – Garcia from Spain – 25 May 2023 (10/10)
The appartment is very nice and close to a lot of interesting spots in the city, Emanuela was magnífica!! She welcomed us and gave us some recomendations and indications from the place. Everything was super clean and organized, we were super happy to find a place like this in Milano, taking in count is basically in the center of the city :). Loved it!
What could be improved: Everything was perfect!
