Albergo Salerno Overview
First Impressions
Albergo Salerno sits right in the heart of Milan’s Stazione Centrale district, and honestly, that’s both its biggest selling point and what you need to know going in. This three-star property won’t blow you away with flashy lobbies or marble everything, but it gets the job done — especially if you’re the type who wants to drop your bags and actually explore the city rather than hang around the hotel.
Location & Getting Around
You’re literally a five-minute walk from Milano Centrale station, which I mean, if you’re arriving by train or need to catch those early flights from Malpensa, this is gold. The Porta Garibaldi business district is right there too, so you’ll see plenty of suits rushing around during the week. Sure, it’s not the most charming neighborhood — more functional than romantic — but the metro connections are fantastic and you can be in the Duomo area in about fifteen minutes.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was… well, it was clean and functional. You know what I appreciated? The air conditioning actually worked properly (not always a given in older Milan hotels), and the Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay. The furnishings are a bit dated — think early 2000s business hotel vibes — but everything felt maintained. The shower had decent pressure, which after a long day of walking around Milan’s cobblestone streets, you’ll definitely appreciate.
Practical Perks
There’s a small breakfast spread in the mornings — nothing fancy, but they do proper Italian coffee and decent pastries. The staff at reception spoke good English and were actually helpful with restaurant recommendations, not just the usual tourist trap suggestions. Parking is available if you’re driving, though honestly, I’d skip the car in Milan altogether. The front desk can arrange airport transfers too, which saved me the hassle of figuring out public transport with luggage.
Why Guests Choose It
Look, Albergo Salerno isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense place that works particularly well for business travelers or anyone who needs easy train access. The rates are reasonable for Milan standards, and you’re getting a clean, safe base without paying for amenities you might not use anyway. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city’s incredible restaurant scene and shopping districts, this place lets you do exactly that without breaking the budget.

What could be improved: Noise room, near the main roadIt was pleasant with some aspects need improvements. – Jeric from Netherlands – 9 September 2025 (8/10)
The room is clean. Despite that it is next to the road intersection, it is noise proof.
What could be improved: The bathroom is quite narrow and the toilet is close to the wall in front of it so it is uncomfortable. The staff should be more friendly and polite.Great experience – Essack from South Africa – 8 September 2025 (9/10)
