BnButler – Cesare Brivio, 21 – Ampio e Luminoso Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, BnButler – Cesare Brivio, 21 – Ampio e Luminoso caught me off guard in the best way possible. The name basically tells you what you’re getting — “ampio e luminoso” means spacious and bright, and they weren’t kidding around. This apartment sits in a classic Milanese building on Via Cesare Brivio, and the moment you step inside, you understand why they bothered to put those Italian words right in the name.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what I love about this spot in Milan? It’s tucked away in Isola, which feels like the city’s best-kept secret — well, not so secret anymore, but still. The neighborhood has this amazing mix of old-school Milan charm and new energy, with plenty of cafés where locals actually hang out. You’re close enough to Porta Garibaldi station that getting around the city is easy, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can pretend you live here for a few days.

The Space

This four-star setup really delivers on the “ampio” promise — I mean, Milan apartments aren’t exactly known for being roomy, but this one breaks that rule completely. The windows are massive, flooding everything with natural light that makes the whole place feel even bigger than it already is. The kitchen is actually functional too, not one of those tiny European afterthoughts, so you can cook a proper meal if the mood strikes.

Comfort & Amenities

The room layout works really well — everything feels thoughtfully arranged rather than just thrown together. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in a pretty lively neighborhood. The WiFi actually works (always a gamble with apartment rentals), and there’s decent parking nearby, though you’ll want to ask about the specifics since Milan’s parking situation can be… well, let’s call it character-building.

Why Guests Love It

Look, with an 8.7 rating, people clearly get what makes this place special. It’s that rare find where you get the space and light that most Milan accommodations just can’t offer, plus you’re living in an actual neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. The BnButler team seems to have figured out that travelers want to feel like they belong somewhere, not just pass through. Whether you’re here for work or wandering around the Navigli, this apartment gives you a proper home base that doesn’t feel like a compromise.

Milan’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike paths to hidden Leonardo da Vinci sites.

Reviews of BnButler – Cesare Brivio, 21 – Ampio e Luminoso

  • Great – Ena from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 12 June 2025 (9/10)

The apartment is really spacious and in a good location.

What could be improved: The apartment didn’t have any toilet paper, soap or any additional toiletries.

  • VIA PELL. ROSSI 42 – DON’T STAY HERE – Tanya from Australia – 30 October 2024 (3/10)

Comfy pillow. Close to train station.

What could be improved: First of all, our review is not for the apartment that we initially booked. We were told that we needed to switch to another (Via Pellegrino Rossi, 42) and we accepted, not realising how poor it would be.
    1. The door was almost impossible to open. The key is very uncomfortable and you have to turn it several times, meeting with a lot of resistance.
    2. You can bolt the door if you’re locking it from the outside, but not from the inside. This made us feel quite unsafe.
    3. Walking in, we smelled mould. It was not a pleasant introduction to the apartment, nor was the mould covering the bathroom ceiling and walls, or the excessive build up of limescale in the kettle. We chose not to drink any boiled water from the kettle so that we wouldn’t have to try and pick out all the bits of limescale that came off.
    4. No basic cleaning equipment or kitchen staples. We had an air fryer full of crumbs, a juicer (??), and a sandwich press that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I had to soak the press with soapy water for an hour. Oh but the soap – we had to buy our own. And oil. And salt. And toilet paper (we only had two rolls). And tissues. And room spray to get rid of the mould stench. And the sponge that was provided to us was filthy (see image) – luckily I was able to rummage through the cupboards and find one that would clean instead of dirty the plates.
    5. THE SHOWER DOOR in one of the bathrooms. The design of it is ridiculous. You literally have to climb over the toilet to get into the shower, and then the door doesn’t even close properly, leading to not only you cleaning yourself, but also cleaning the floor, because water escapes everywhere. My friend ended up having to use my shower, despite the advertisement of two.
    6. One of the kitchen drawers is missing a door???
    7. Lack of ventilation and security.

  • Superb – Vera from Romania – 19 April 2024 (9/10)

We appreciated that there were dish washer tablets/capsules and detergent capsules for laundry – really helpful!!!
There were towels provided and good internet, etc.
There were enough crockery and dishes in the kitchen and all necessary around the house.
The location is close to Metro station and is quiet and nice!!!

What could be improved: There were no slippers (although the pictures indicated that these would be included).
Also, we would have appreciated if garbage bags, and toilet paper would have been provided.

  • Nice and spacious with great location. – Yordanka from Bulgaria – 22 March 2024 (9/10)

The location is almost everything in big city like this: 2-3 minutes walking to metro yellow line!

Nearby there is a Conad supermarket, trattoria and a bakery so everything important is a few steps from the apartment.

The place is bright and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. For rest after all day walking was very very good.

What could be improved: The pillows are veeeery low, it would be good to have spares and who needs to sleep on a higher one to have that option. I personally had neck pain the last day.

The apartment was relatively clean, the water is very calcified so the bathroom looks a bit dirty.

  • Pleasant – Mariya from Bulgaria – 12 February 2024 (6/10)

Verry near the metro station. Good neighbourhood, stor near and many restaurant, good bakery near the place.

What could be improved: It was a little bit old, some supplies are missing like toile paper. It wasn't very clean.

  • Nice and plesent stay – Nikoladm from Serbia – 22 November 2023 (9/10)

Location – 5-6 stations to FC Centrale or Republica. There are bakeries, coffee shops, and a big shop in the near.
The beds are very comfortable and nice to sleep in. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you might need, but we didn't plan to cook but rather to eat out. The bathroom has a very interesting combination of colors, it is clean and spacious.

What could be improved: The sofa in the living room should use a new cover because the present one looks more dirty and torn out than it really is.
The key to the recycling deposit in the backyard of the building wasn't working. They have confusing garbage separation rules in Milan so we had a problem with garbage sorting, especially in combination with only 3 garbage bins.

  • Good – Alexandru from Romania – 21 August 2023 (7/10)

The apartment is located in a quiet area, close to several local coffee shops. The metro station is also close which ease the access to the main objectives.

What could be improved: The apartment was not so clean, especially the bathroom. There were dirty spots and limescale everywhere.

  • Exceptional – Zhenchun from United Kingdom – 16 July 2023 (10/10)

The location of this hotel is very convenient. It's only about two minutes away from the subway station. The service staff is very professional and enthusiastic. They added my contact information on WhatsApp and answered my questions in detail. I like it here very much. If I come to Milan again, I will choose it without hesitation.

  • Everything excellent – Iulia from Romania – 2 July 2023 (10/10)

    Excelent location, extremely confortabile.
    Congratulations !

What could be improved: Everything excellent

  • Beautiful apartment at the outskirts of Milan – Daria from Switzerland – 29 June 2023 (9/10)

Spacious apartment with everything you need. The AC was really useful for our visit, so was the fast wifi. It's also right by the M3 metro line. The check-in process was automated and the host very responsive.
