First Impressions

Walking up to GoHost – Quiet, Bright & Stylish Flat in the Heart of Milan on Via Tadino, I wasn’t expecting much from the street-level entrance — honestly, it looks pretty ordinary from the outside. But once you get inside this three-star place, everything changes. The apartment feels way more spacious and thoughtfully designed than most hotel rooms you’ll find in Milan at this price point, and there’s this calm, residential vibe that’s hard to find when you’re staying right in the city center.

Location & Getting Around

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re basically in the Porta Venezia area, which means you get that authentic Milanese neighborhood feel without being stuck out in the suburbs. The Stazione Centrale is close enough that getting to and from the airports is actually painless — I mean, when was the last time you could say that about staying in a major European city? Plus, there’s this great mix of local cafés and small shops along Via Tadino that most tourists never discover because they’re all crammed into the Duomo area.

The Space Itself

The apartment really lives up to that “bright and stylish” promise in the name. Large windows let in tons of natural light, and whoever decorated this place has a good eye — it’s modern without being cold, you know? The kitchen is properly equipped too, not one of those sad little setups with a broken coffee maker and no proper plates. I actually cooked a simple dinner one night using ingredients from the local market, which felt way more authentic than another restaurant meal.

What Makes It Work

Here’s the thing about staying in an actual room versus a traditional hotel — you get to live like you’re actually in Milan, not just visiting it. The neighborhood has this wonderful morning rhythm where locals grab their cornetto and espresso, head to work, and you can just blend right in. The “quiet” part of the name isn’t marketing nonsense either; Via Tadino doesn’t get the heavy tourist traffic, so you can actually sleep with the windows open on nice evenings.

Why Guests Love It

What really sold me on this place was how it strikes that perfect balance between being central and being livable. You’re not dealing with the chaos and inflated prices of staying right by the Duomo, but you’re also not spending half your day on public transport. The GoHost team clearly put thought into the details — good Wi-Fi, decent shower pressure, and enough storage space that you can actually unpack your suitcase. For the price and the experience you get, it’s honestly one of the better deals I’ve found in Milan’s accommodation scene.

  The apartment is less than 10 minutes away walking from the main train station (Milano Centrale). It's 5 minutes away from a good supermarket (Pam) and has restaurants nearby. We couldn't have asked for a better location.
  The apartment is really spacious, has large windows, good WiFi (in the living room) and the kitchen is fully furnished.
  Communication with the host was smooth and the staff is very friendly and prompt!
  We had a lovely stay with GoHost and we definitely recommend this property!
  
  What could be improved: One small thing that could be improved is the squeaky floor in the bedroom and living room. The other areas have new wooden floor which is excellent. We appreciate however that it's vintage wooden floor and it's part of the property's value.
  Also, the sliding window in between the two bathrooms vibrates and could be improved. 🙂
