First Impressions

Walking up to GREEN RIBBON on Via Giovanni Battista Fauchè, I’ll be honest — it’s not the flashiest entrance you’ll see in Milan. But that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star hotel sits quietly in the Sempione district, and there’s something refreshing about finding a place that doesn’t feel the need to shout about itself. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately tells you they’ve put thought into the details without going overboard.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in a neighborhood where Milanese people actually live. The Sempione area isn’t touristy, which means you’ll find proper cafes and local shops within walking distance. Parco Sempione is literally around the corner, and I mean this is perfect for morning runs or just escaping the city buzz for a bit. You can walk to the Duomo if you’re feeling ambitious, but honestly, the metro connections here make getting around pretty effortless.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was bigger than I expected — Milan hotels can be notoriously cramped, but GREEN RIBBON seems to have figured out how to use space well. The design leans modern without being cold, and the bed was genuinely comfortable (you know how hotel beds can be hit or miss). What struck me most was how quiet it was despite being on a city street. The soundproofing actually works, which is something I’ve learned not to take for granted.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant surprised me — I wasn’t expecting much, but they’re doing solid contemporary Italian food that doesn’t feel like typical hotel fare. Breakfast is worth getting up for, with decent coffee and fresh pastries that taste like they came from somewhere local. There’s parking available too, which if you’re driving in Milan, you’ll appreciate more than you can imagine. The staff genuinely seems to know the city well and gave me restaurant recommendations that turned out to be spot-on.

  The facilities were impecable, the lockers to store things after checking out was very convenient, really well located.
  
  What could be improved: The shower itself did not have a door and the drain ran too slow, so the bathroom was all flooded after showering

  Rooms were lovely, nicely finished, nice and clean. Close to local bars and restaurants and the subway and tram systems.
  
  What could be improved: Access to the building is complicated. Also some times to register weren't available which made things tricky, this could of been explained better.

  The apartment was very clean and had modern amenities.
  
  What could be improved: We gave 9 stars because the location was a bit far from everything which is not their fault. Note you will have to take two trains from Milano central to get there…just wish it was a little closer. We also gave 9 stars because we believed for the price the room should have come with a few bottles of water.

  What could be improved: Check out time by 10am, would be nice if slightly later. Discouraged from check in after 10pm, difficult if you are on a late flight.

  i like room it cozy and clean staff are nice and helpful. place is near to train station and metro and big store even you come late at night its safe , and we ae lucky during our stay there is open market direct at the street when we come back to milan we definitely book by green ribbon again .

  On the way to the apartment, we luckily passed through the bazaar. It was a very lively and local environment. We enjoyed it very much. The apartment was very useful and large. It was also very good in terms of cleaning. The location was not bad, you can easily go to the center by public transportation.

  Absolutely superb value! The staff was friendly and welcoming. Clean and comfortable apartment has all necessities needed. Well connected location makes it easy to access city central via tram, buses or metro. There's a big supermarket just short walk away, and plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants nearby. We had great stay, and warmly recommend Green Ribbon to other travellers.
