Michelangelo Navigli Loft Experience – Via Magolfa Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Michelangelo Navigli Loft Experience – Via Magolfa, you immediately get that “this is different” feeling. It’s tucked away on a quieter street in the Navigli district, which honestly makes it feel more like you’re staying at a friend’s stylish place rather than a traditional hotel. The building has this modern industrial vibe that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s creative energy.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s great about this spot? You’re right in the heart of Navigli but not on one of those crazy busy canal-side streets where the noise goes until 3 AM. Via Magolfa gives you the best of both worlds — you can walk to all the aperitivo bars and vintage shops in about five minutes, but you’ll actually get some sleep. Milan‘s metro is close enough that getting to the Duomo or Brera doesn’t require any planning, which I really appreciated.

The Loft Experience

The room setup is what makes this four-star place special — these are proper loft-style spaces with high ceilings and big windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is). Each unit has a small kitchenette area, which came in handy for morning coffee and storing those amazing cheeses I picked up at the local market. The design is clean and contemporary without being cold, if that makes sense.

Practical Comforts

The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for Milan standards, and the water pressure is excellent — something you don’t always get in converted buildings. There’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re doing the whole Milan fashion shopping thing. The Wi-Fi actually works properly throughout the space, and the air conditioning kept things comfortable during my July visit when the city was pretty steamy.

Why Guests Love It

I mean, the real appeal here is that you get to live like a temporary Milanese resident rather than just passing through. The staff is helpful without being hovering, and they know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward that little osteria around the corner that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. The combination of modern comfort with authentic neighborhood living — plus being able to walk home along the canals after dinner — makes this place work for travelers who want something more personal than your typical Milan hotel experience.

Reviews of Michelangelo Navigli Loft Experience – Via Magolfa

  • Ideal for short stays! – Turner from United Kingdom – 1 November 2025 (9/10)

Ideal for a short stay, has everything you'd need.

What could be improved: Could do with more plug sockets around the seating area and more pillows in the bedroom.

  • Very good – Lily from Australia – 5 September 2025 (8/10)

Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was spacious and clean and the apartment was located in a lively area within walking distance of great bars, restaurants, and sites.

What could be improved: Even though we knew it was a loft, the stairs were very steep it almost felt dangerous. It also would have been nice to have some cushions on the couch as it was practically impossible to sit on comfortably.

  • Great location, perfect for a city break – Raluca from Ireland – 4 August 2025 (7/10)

self-check-in, keys in lock. Host gave instructions for check-in and check-out, was very responsive to messages.
The location is very good, it wasn't too noisy (except some people passing and talking loudly).
The shower has great pressure and the bathroom is very well equipped. The place even has a small fridge.

What could be improved: The place could have been cleaner (dust bunnies and mosquito marks on the walls).

  • It was pleasant and comfortable. – Mendel from Israel – 24 June 2025 (8/10)

The room was beautiful and spacious. There was plenty of room for everything. It was clean and cheerful.

What could be improved: We would have liked to have met the host as we had a medical emergency as well as other questions. A clock would have helped as would a kettle.

  • Great experience, would go again. – Simone from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (9/10)

Layout and design of the apartment was amazing, very clean. Access at gates very easy.

What could be improved: 1. Please make clear in the access instructions that there is an intermediate door to open and that it is on the ground floor. 2. towels were clean but smelly, like they had not dried properly.

  • Good value for money – Dorin from Romania – 22 May 2025 (8/10)

It was clean, safe, easy to get there. I would recommend to add a kettle, tea and tea cups, might be a plus.

What could be improved: It was a bit noisy when cars were passing by, although not so many cars on the street.

  • Good flat! With beautiful surroundings – Katy from United Kingdom – 18 May 2025 (8/10)

The property was a decent size with a large bed and nice bathroom overall pretty good and location is amazing next to the beautiful Navigli canal.

What could be improved: The air-con would blow out white flakes like paint and didn’t cool the room down much, the sofa had no back cushions so was rather hard to sit comfortably.

  • Superb – Can from United States – 9 February 2025 (9/10)

    It was comfy

What could be improved: There wasnt any knifes or kettle to boil water

  • Comfortable and cozy apartment in a very nice location. Clean and nice space. – Evangelos from Greece – 20 January 2025 (8/10)

Location was excellent. In the center of all interests but in peaceful neighborhood as well. Approachable and nice place to spend time.

What could be improved: Even the apartment was definitely very clean, I was unable to confirm the cleanliness of the linen. Perhaps they were but I didn’t get the freshness I was expecting.

  • Good – Doua from Spain – 27 December 2024 (7/10)

The housekeeper Ibrahim was on point. He was the only staff who actually gave us great service

What could be improved: The loft itself is safe, has all required amenities for and the bed is comfortable.
Yet I was promised a certain hour of check in and it wasn’t respected, and the check out hour was not flexible even if it was possible as a courtesy of the first error.
