Starhotels Ritz Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Starhotels Ritz, you immediately get that classic Italian hotel vibe — polished marble floors, tasteful lighting, and staff who actually seem happy to see you. It’s one of those places that feels properly established without being stuffy, which honestly surprised me given how close it sits to Milano Centrale station. The lobby strikes this nice balance between business-hotel efficiency and old-world charm that you don’t always find in four-star properties.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about the Spallanzani area — you’re literally a five-minute walk from Milan‘s central train station, but the street itself is surprisingly quiet and residential. I mean, you’ve got easy access to the metros (Porta Venezia is right there), but you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with being directly on top of Centrale. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with local cafés and shops, plus you can walk to the Porta Venezia gardens when you need a break from the city buzz.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was what you’d expect from a solid four-star — clean lines, comfortable bed, and everything worked properly. What impressed me was the attention to soundproofing, actually. Despite being near a major transport hub, I barely heard any train noise at night. The bathrooms are nicely updated with good water pressure (always a relief in older European hotels), and there’s decent storage space if you’re staying more than just a night or two.
Dining & Amenities
The hotel’s restaurant serves respectable Italian fare, though honestly, I’d recommend venturing out for dinner — you’re in Milan, after all. Breakfast was solid with fresh pastries and decent coffee, which is really all you need before heading out to explore. There’s also parking available, which is genuinely helpful if you’re driving in the city, though I’d suggest using public transport once you’re settled in.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about this place is how it solves the Milan accommodation puzzle — you get professional service, comfortable rooms, and smart positioning without paying centro storico prices. The staff genuinely knows the area well and can point you toward the best local spots, which matters more than you’d think. It’s the kind of hotel that business travelers appreciate for its reliability, but it works just as well if you’re here to see the city and want a proper home base that won’t eat your entire budget.

Reviews of Starhotels Ritz
Definitely recommend! – Kseniia from Malta – 3 December 2025 (9/10)
Firstly, excellent breakfast. Yummy sweets, scrambled eggs done well. Coffee was just great, and breakfast staff are very quick and friendly.
Secondly, reception staff- extremely professional and helpful.
Rooms very cleaned very well, no complaints there.
They really have a great team there.
Place is quiet (I’m a light sleeper), we had a very spacious bathroom.
What could be improved: Triple room was somewhat small for 3 persons, though fair value for money.Exceptional – Carol from United States – 24 November 2025 (10/10)
I would say that there was nothing we requested that this hotel did not achieve. From the simple of extra pillows to, asking for English channels numbers (the clerk brought to our room the English channels highlighted on a paper list), extra milk for my tea and the sweet (Filipina) waitress in the restaurant was so accommodating that she deserves a special mention. The breakfast was amazing and the servers always had smiles on their faces. All in all a great experience.
What could be improved: There was nothing that I did not like at this hotel.Brilliant – Chloe from United Kingdom – 23 November 2025 (10/10)
Frank at the front desk was amazing and so helpful.
Very good hotel and great team – Adrian from Israel – 22 November 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: NothingEnjoyed the stay and I will definitely re-visit it ! – Adamantios from Greece – 13 November 2025 (9/10)
Hotel's location is great, between 2 metro stations (M1 red line) and close to Suburban Train station (100m).
You can also walk from the Central Train station, it doesn't take more than 15 minutes and also you can walk to Duomo, around 20 minutes.
Corso Buenos Aires is an avenue full of stores and also the area close to the Hotel is full of restaurants and bars.
Breakfast was very nice with a large buffet and the staff fast and ready to serve.
What could be improved: What is missing is a protective screen for the window in the room, to keep mosquitos out. This is something that can be improved. We’re lucky to have found this place! Staff tried to book a taxi for a dinner reservation due to the public transit stri – Olivia from Canada – 11 November 2025 (9/10)
Spacious, clean room with very friendly and helpful staff. The location was also perfect and easy to get around.
